"Extinguishing Space" is a short demo I created for my game design class.

The only theme of this assignment: First person and raycasts. I chose to try to be a little creative with my first person controller and opt for a physics-based single control system. The way I implemented this is with a little inspiration from the movie Wall-E. There's a scene where Wall-E and Eva are trapped in space, with nothing but fire extinguishers, where they can only move in one direction. I thought it would be fun to have sea-mine looking space-mines that use thrusters to move towards you as enemies. To incorporate raycasting, I implemented a laser gun which could be used to shoot the enemies to make them explode. Add in some effects, sounds, and levels and the demo was complete.

Game Details:

Your goal is to find and press all buttons in order to escape through the exit hatch. Be careful! There are space mines around you which will activate if you get too close. Use your tools to move around and defeat the enemy mines. Good luck.

Controls:

Mouse - look

Space - move/shoot

Esc - open menu

Numbers - change tool
